The GW Heart & Vascular Institute (HVI) is deeply saddened by the announcement of Dick Cheney’s passing on Monday, November 3, 2025.

The goal of the Institute is to accelerate the pace of scientific discovery, reduce mortality and improve the quality of life of Americans with heart and vascular disease. The Institute’s mission, due to the generous contributions from the Cheney family and others, has expanded over the years to include international medical missions, local and regional community partnerships and advancement of research and professional medical education globally.
